Krzysztof Bartosik is an associate professor in the Institute of Economics, Polish Academy of Sciences. His current research focuses on the labour market, particularly on the determinants of the demand and supply of labour, and wages. Author and co-author of publications analyzing, inter alia, the effect of child benefits on women’s labor supply, the elasticity of labor demand, and the impact of long-term unemployment on wages. Honored in the Competition for the NBP Governor Award for the best article published in the Bank i Kredyt scientific journal in 2016.

He has been conducting lectures on microeconomics, macroeconomics, and economic policy at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He served as the dean and vice-chancellor at the Wyższa Szkoła Zarządzania – Polish Open University. In the Institute of Economics, for many years he participated in and coordinated the work of the team preparing cyclical reports Gospodarka Polski – Prognozy i Opinie (Polish Economy – Forecasts and Opinions). Reports analyzed the macroeconomic situation in Poland and forecasted short-term macroeconomic trends. He was the editor-in-chief of the journals Studia Ekonomiczne and Zarządzanie Zmianami. Zeszyty Naukowe. In the Institute of Economics, he is currently Deputy Director of Science, head of the Department of World Economy, and head of the Executive Doctoral Business Administration. He is also the deputy editor-in-chief of the Ekonomista.
