III. FINEXCA Workshop. Competition and Finance in Natural Resource Markets
Szczecin, 9-10 June 2017
The Workshop provides an opportunity for presentation and discussion of early and advanced research papers on topics related to the main theme of the workshop “Competition and Finance in Natural Resource Markets”. The research may be theoretical, empirical, or policy-related. Authors of papers with financialisation of commodity markets and fertilizer economics focus are especially encouraged to submit.
Programme:
Presentations will take place on Friday and Saturday morning. Friday afternoon, all participants are invited for a guided tour to a nearby fertilizer production plant in Police operated by Europe’s second largest mineral fertilizer producer Grupa Azoty SA followed by the conference dinner.
Submission:
Extended abstracts (1000 words) or full papers should be sent to Piotr Śpiewanowski at piotr.spiewanowski@inepan.waw.pl with subject header „FINEXCA workshop”. The deadline for submission is April 24, 2017. All applicants will be given a notice on their submission by May 7, 2017.
There is no conference fee and the organizers will cover the lunch and workshop dinner. Travel costs and hotel room expenses must be covered by the participants themselves, yet a limited number of subsidies for accommodation is available upon specific request.
Location and Accommodation:
Szczecin is served by Szczecin airport located around 30km outside the city centre. You can get there directly with budget airlines or by regular carriers via Warsaw. However, often the recommended solution is to fly to Berlin and then continue the journey with a shuttle bus (2-2.5 hrs). Shuttle buses to Szczecin depart every hour from Berlin Schoenefeld airport and every other hour from Berlin Tegel airport.
We recommend the participants to be lodged at Hotel Atrium in the heart of the city. The workshop venue (Technopark Pomerania) is a short walk from the hotel.
